Holiday Wishes to You and Yours from APG!

As we end another year (and start a new decade!), we at Aireco Advanced Products Group (APG) are grateful for the amazing customers, projects and opportunities we’ve had in 2019. The APG channel of Aireco actually started in 2010! We have our industry partners to thank for nearly a decade of great work. We could not do this without you!

This year, we had a fantastic turnout for technical training. Nearly 400 participants joined us in one of our four, specialized training centers to learn more about Mitsubishi Electric’s Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems. That’s a combined 7,320 hours dedicated to advancing the field. These two- and three-day hands-on courses give in-depth insight to CITY MULTI® and M- and P-Series systems. Whether you’re new to VRF or need a refresher, we take pride in offering top-of-the-line training programs, ensuring you feel comfortable and prepared on any job. We already have January and February classes on the schedule – sign up today!

One of the qualities we love about VRF equipment is the versatility of the systems. In 2019, we were fortunate to work on some very exciting projects. A few highlights include:

 Newport News Shipbuilding Crane

After 46 years, Virginia’s Newport News Shipbuilding needed to replace its gantry crane. With 24/7 operation, the crane needed an HVAC system that could keep the controls room cool, no matter the outside conditions.

Project Insight
“This project really shows the flexibility of Mitsubishi Electric equipment. We’ve got a remote, mounted condenser in a constantly moving environment.” Matt Kemp, APG

 Kind Therapeutics

When MariMed Advisors, a cannabis business consultant, was developing Kind Therapeutics USA, a grow facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, they knew selecting the right HVAC system was critical.

Project Insight
“Certain strands of marijuana require specific amounts of humidity; certain strands require different temperatures. With VRF’s individual temperature settings, every area can have its own designated climate and comfort level.”
Mike Wathen, CARE Services, Inc.

 Cambria Hotel Ocean City

As the newest of Ocean City, Maryland’s waterfront attractions, the Cambria Hotel is slated to open in the coming months. Cambria Ocean City is a highly anticipated venue which will bring upscale dining, recreation and meeting space in addition to hospitality.

Project Insight
“Heat recovery is one of the biggest benefits of VRF systems for hotels. The building benefits from passing heat around and we try to keep that in mind when we’re designing to have different exposures on a single system.”

Timothy Chatterton, PE, RMF Engineering

 Tidemark Federal Credit Union (TFCU)

When TFCU decided to expand branches into Longneck, Delaware and Selbyville, Delaware, Tidemark knew VRF would meet their needs with zoning.

Project Insight

“I utilized Mitsubishi Electric as the basis of design and recommended it to TFCU. When I design with Mitsubishi products, I know the quality of the equipment and the support I’ll receive from APG puts us on track for success.”
David Chandler, CxA, P.E., LEED AP, BD+C, Allen & Shariff Engineering, LLC

Wishing all a safe and happy holiday with your loved ones. Our offices will be closed December 24, 25 and January 1. See you in the New Year!
